Buddhists don't actually worship a being. Some may say they worship Buddha, but he his not seen as a "God" like other religions. Buddhism is more spiritual and open minded than western religions.

    • Well I like part of what you're saying, but I would strike the word 'worship' altogether, it's not really used in Buddhism. Some Buddhists do believe in something approximately like a monotheistic God. The Buddha himself avoided making any commitments about metaphysical questions, because he wanted to make sure the focus remained on things that actually make a difference with regard to human suffering. In his view, all the arguing about God, life-after-death, the nature of the soul, etc., were all a distraction from the real business of religion: ending the suffering caused by ignorance. So technically, one can be both Christian and Buddhist at the same time, or Muslim and Buddhist, etc., and some people do that. I don't.
