Which Pokemon is more powerful, Mew or Arceus?

    This actually brings up an interesting case.

    In stats in data collection, Arceus would be more powerful, but in spirits and DNA, that would be Mew.

    What's more interesting is this.

    When the first Generation of Pokemon was released, it was said at first that Mew would be the strongest natural Pokemon of all. Of course there was Mewtwo, which was made by the DNA of Mew.
    What's more confusing is the data called "MISSINGNO#". It's not really a Pokemon, but it was supposed to be one, but it was canceled. It was said to be the God Pokemon of all.

    It was discarded for the generations to come.

    Then came the Fourth Generation of Pokemon, along with Diagla, Palkia, Darkari, and many others. It has been accounced that Arceus was supposed to be the greatest Pokemon of all. It's been said that Arceus holds all DNA of all Pokemon, just like Mew.

    The problem is that it was undeclared whether to put Arceus or Mew to become the top Pokemon. It was decided later that Arceus came out to be the top since it was called a God Pokemon.

    Many have argued that Arceus should not be a pokemon, because with the relationship with MISSINGNO#, it just relates back to Mew instead.

    For facts, Mew was born while Arceus was brought up with the MISSINGNO# case. But then again, Arceus can create Pokemon, not Mew, according to a myth. Arceus is not really recorded as itself, but rather to MISSINGNO#.

    One final thing to cover, is the myth of Arceus. It was said that Arceus was the original one, and not Mew. According the Arceus Myth it describes...

    "Arceus is Original One, which means Original and True Pokemon. In this text, before Arceus was nothing and chaos like in mythology. Mew cannot create Original Ones."

    ...

    So basically, they both have their balances.

    • Could you explain more about MISSINGNO#? I'm rather a pokemaniac myself, but haven't been able to find anybody who knows about MISSINGNO# anymore than myself. Could you help (see my question on MISSINGNO#?

    • Wow I have never heard of missingNO connected to Arceas, considering it was a glitch in a gen one game that was never seen again...

    • Missing NO is not a missing god pokemon... after talking to the "Old Man" the game stores your name by the side of Cinnabar Island (why Nintendo put it there we have no idea, they probably just figured no one would actually end up there after talking to him.) And the pokemon and Missing No and there levels you find there depends on your name. Missing No is the a God Pokemon in the seance that his counter part M-Block (M with the little block beside his name) catching him can actually hurt your game.
