Go to the SSA office and take your marriage certificate. It is a quick fix. You may even be able to go to SSA online and download the proper form so that you make sure to take the proper documents with you.
They shouldn't be able to not hire you because of that. But you should try to have your paperwork in order on your first day of work when you go to fill out your I-9 documentation.
