How could I write a decimal as a fraction or mixed number in simplest form?

    Turning a decimal to a fraction: place the number behind the decimal point over it's place value. For instance. 0.32 is "32 hundreths" or 32/100. And .679 would be 679/1000.

    Writing a mixed number in simpliest form: 4 and 1/2 would be 9/2. Multiply the number on the bottom by the whole number and add it to the number on top (2x4=1) then place that on top of the original bottom number: 9/2.

      4/1 = 8/2 (2x both top and bottom)

      8/2 + 1/2 = 9/2 (You can add fractions with common demonators)
