If someone refers to 'partying' does that always mean getting drunk?

    To "party" in modern vernacular means to use a mind altering substance, usually defined by a common interest. While to some it might mean drinking, don't leave off the possibility of it meaning "to smoke cannabis." In certain circles "partying" is given as a contrast or alternative to "getting drunk."
