How do you get an extremly picky child to eat?

    Since most of the answers were from one viewpoint, I decided to post this as an answer.

    I agree that our daughter should be forced to eat or go to bed hungry. I was a very picky child to and Im still a picky eater to a large degree. But I will at least try things. There are things that my mom and dad tried to force me to eat that I just could not stomach.

    So, I try to tell our daughter that she has to at least try it. After trying it, If she can honestly tell me that she cannot eat it, I will give her the boxed meal. (My daughter is quite honest about most things, so I can give her this option of telling me)

    But the problem is that my wife is the one that caves so I cave to her because I dont want to get in a fight.
