Response from Owen Van Natta, CEO of Facebook:
The thing about Facebook is that it increases information flow among people. We’ve taken a different approach than a lot of folks have in how we’ve done it. We view what we do as we build tools and platforms and vessels that we put into a structure that includes who knows whom, and we let the users basically use those tools for communicating and sharing information. It’s highly effective and that’s essentially what we do as a company. In terms of what I’ve learned at amazon or other places that I didn’t necessarily bring these things to Facebook Mark, our founder and CEO has a very user-centric view of the world and our product and what we’re trying to do. I think a lot of those values just map very, very well and we’ve been able to be a good team.
