    Absolutely right.

Human beings are in very significant part warlike, and so all human societies regardless of religion have engaged in many wars, and where those societies have been successful, sometimes aggressive ones.

However no major world religion has, as a religion, ever been nearly as warlike as Islam.

Some ideologies have been even worse, such as the very short lived Nazism. And the Aztecs and Incas were similar, but not really world religions now were they. Certainly Christianity AS A RELIGION doesn't come close, though of course the European Imperial period was highly expansionist and sometimes pretty bloody. (Nothing like the bloodiness per capita for their time of the Mongols both and before and after they became Muslims, but bloody.) But Christianity itself, even Spanish Christianity, often worked hard, and sometimes successfully to reduce oppression and enslavement of subject peoples. Islam far less so. It's an imperial religion / political system. There is no division or distinction between church and state in Islam.
