After a safety, why does the team who got the 2 points get the ball back?

    Because they earned it. Being thrown for a safety is a big no no and the team creating it deserves the ball.

    • But when a team scores in every other way, they then give the ball to the other side.

    • But they only get two points. A safety is a pretty rare event, and the team making one should get the ball.
