Do MP3 players weigh more the more songs you put on them?

    No -- won't weigh any different. There is no weight involved in writing data to a hard drive or flash drive. For a hard drive, storing a song is merely aligning molecules differently using magnets. Kinda like flipping coins heads or tails, the weight doesn't change.

    For a flash device, the principal is the same, but instead of using magnetism, electricity is used.

    There is zero mass added or removed in the process.

    • I couldn't figure out why people were getting not useful ratings either, until I noticed the category the question was in. This question is asking for a stupid answer.

    • I think this is a joke. I saw it on 'Dumbest customer questions ever' on somethingawful.com a few weeks ago. Yes, you spell awful incorrectly.

      Technically though, it would become heavier by in immeasurable amount.
