Help answer this question below.

Should Community Leaders have term limits instead of tenure? Should AB members have a vote on whom they would like to have fill the jobs?

    Speaking as someone who has come back and forth on AB, and a previous CL. I don't think that CL's should have a term so to speak. However, I do know that there was sometime that I remained a CL after I was pretty much unavailable to do anything on AB due to a new baby. It was several months after I was inactive before I was no longer a CL. I'm not sure what it's like these days as I haven't been around in almost 2 years but back then the CLs did their best and IMO did a damn fine job, I'd like to think it's the same now (and judging by the folks that I remember that are now CLs, I bet they do).

    I think perhaps a better way is to have folks "recommit" after say, 6 months to see if they are still interested, and available, as yes sometimes life gets in the way. As for people voting, they used to "kind" of informally do so. CLs were picked from people that were typically often present that had a high standard of objectivity and carried themselves in a very professional manner, and were typically recommended by other CLs and I have NEVER seen someone become a CL that wasn't respected by the AB community (besides the obvious "you can't please everyone" rule).

    Just my two cents. Good question Rosie :)

    • Thanks Cyndi. It's always helpful to get a response "from the horses's mouth", so to speak. I think sometimes if someone is in any position too long he/she might get burned out and not even realize it. Sometimes having new blood replace the old rejuvenates things and is a very good thing. It's like opening windows that have been stuck closed too long to let in the fresh air. I do appreciate your answer and we're very glad to have you back with us.
