    It means you wanted to wear a ring on your thumb.

    Ok... you didn't like that answer...

    For the most part, people who wear rings (or any jewelry) wear it because they like it, and they want to wear it.. no meaning intended. So to most of us, if you wear a thumb ring we assume its because you wanted to wear it. No other reason.
