Help answer this question below.

My girlfreind just told me after we had sex her urine burned..thinks she has a UTI... we just had unpretected sex..i dont know what to do (1) can i get it , what should i do (2) how can she cure herself?

    That burning sensation is from irritation to the urethral opening. This happens often as a result of the rubbing against that area during sex. What she should do is pee before sex, pee right after sex and then clean the area so as to rid it of any bacteria that will cause an infection. UTI's often are a result of bacteria finding a way into an irritated urethra, which is why she should clean down there after sex. Another thing she should do is start to drink lots of water-and I mean lots-over the next few days so that any bacteria that may have gotten in there can be flushed out. If she doesn't start flushing her system out asap she may wind up having to take antibiotics which could wind up giving her a yeast infection!!! Isn't is crazy?
    And no, you cannot get it from her. Although men can still get UTI's, it is not something that is transmited through sexual activity.
