Why do we all view Pedophiles as child rapists? Many Pedophiles do not act on thier urges.

    Very interesting question.
    I don't think people can choose their sexual likes and dislikes. Some people are attracted to the opposite sex, some are attracted to the same sex. These people can act on their urges. Some people are attracted to animals. Unfortunate, but true-I'm sure they do not shoose to be sexually attracted to animals. The same applies to paedophiles. NOBODY would choose to be sexually attracted to children. Paedophilia is the most evil crime. So I'm sure that acting paedophiles only represent a small percentage of actual paedophiles in society (a worrying thought) Obviously nobody would ever admit to being sexually aroused by children so they will have severe problems all their lives. I think the topic needs to be worked on-I know it is a kind of taboo subject and brings out extreme hatred in people. But a non-practising paedophile must feel like the most disgusting, loneliest person alive. If they are as numewrous as I believe, we need to adress the situation before they turn into practising paedophiles.
