While I know there are some who antagonize and condemn Christianity (such people can be found within all faiths or non-faiths), these attacks have nothing to do with atheism and should only be attributed to the individuals in question. As an atheist, I know I am not alone in respecting the beliefs and practices of people who are religious. As with anything, it is usually the loudest and and most abusive that are given the spotlight, leading many to conclude everyone sharing their beliefs must be the same. I have encountered numerous Christians who viciously attack and denigrate Muslims and Islam while showing complete ignorance of the people and religion they are speaking of. While these people are usually the ones in the spotlight, I do not presume all Christians must be equally arrogant, hateful, and unenlightened.
