  1. The media ('left' or right) can say anything they want about an elected official. It is protected speech under the First Amendment.
  
  2. However, inciting violence and wrongdoing is not. In fact, hate speech is a criminal offense. That is what your reich media does, incite violence and there are examples of that out there, remember? Or do I have to show them to you? See the difference.
  
  3. Even if the 'left' media had said 'garbage' (a/k/a untruths, the way FIXED News, et al) do, it means nothing when it comes to a public official as the penalties for slander/libel are only addressed in civil court and public officials are barred from suing anyone on those grounds.
  
  4. Not withstanding the above, the affirmative defense to accusations of slander/libel is the truth. One only needs to prove that they have said the truth and the suit goes out the window and the accuser has to pay damages.
  
  Notwithstanding what you think, I have never (and heavens help me, I ain't a 'left'winger) heard any one of those on the left tell a lie (at least not a deliberate one) about the other side. Unlike what your lot does. The only reason why someone like condones, aids, abets, seeks and swallows the lies is because they fit your little personal agenda, whatever that may be; in this particular case, I rather suspect it's racism.

• @qwiz: Yes, I would too. Those clowns have taken the populace down a very slippery road. It's time to do something about them but it's unlikely. The only reason why this Turner character got his just desserts is because he defied the powers that be and he got burned. For as long as the other yo yos keep to the script, they'll be safe and allowed to continue to brainwashing of the sheeple.
