What is with people who talk negatively about their husbands and wives?

They are obviously unhappily married & should file for a divorce. If you're having a spat w/ your spouse & need to vent to someone close, that's one thing. If you're constantly talking shit about your spouse, do both of you a favor & cut ties. I don't hang around people that I have nothing nice to say about, much less stay married to them. Your spouse is supposed to be your best friend. Why would you be so cruel to someone you're supposed to love & want to spend the rest of your life w/? I am not directing my answer specifically to the person who asked the question. Sorry if it sounds that way. It boils down to mutual respect. If you don't have enough respect for your spouse to NOT air your dirty laundry, nor do you have enough respect for yourself to not sounds like a cheap gossiper, the relationship is doomed & any other that follows. How would you like it if the shoe was on the other foot?
