  • fiona apple SeaOfGrass has decided, so it said, so it is so
  • I personally enjoy listening to Fiona Apple way more then Tori, however on a level of who I think is better as an artist, I would say Tori Amos. She seems to have a higher level of creativity and uniqueness. Sometimes I find it annoying, but it's something worth appreciating. Just take a look at their cover songs. Both of them covered a beatles song, compare the style of change. Fiona Apple - Across the Universe Tori Amos - Happiness is a warm gun. I don't know about everyone else, but if someone covers a song and it sounds exactly the same I find it to be a waste of time. Which is why Fiona loses this battle.
  • I'm a fan of both and think they are equally talented. I just prefer Fiona's style a bit more. Tori's work can sometimes come off as pretentious or over-the-top for my tastes. As a pianist myself, I think Tori is a better pianist... Fiona's style of playing is a lot more genre oriented...
  • Tori Amos. I find her stuff incredibly emotional, and I like lyrics that you need to decode a little bit. And I find her a little less "obvious" musically as well- you often find you need to listen to a song a few times before you grow to love it. I really loved The Beekeeper album for all the little Daphne Du Maurier references. Also, after seeing her play live I would find it very hard not to pick her- very intense- almost spiritual, best gig I've ever been to without a doubt.
  • Tori Amos every time, Cornflake Girl is such a good song.
  • Fiona Apple.
  • ewwww...and... yeechh.
  • neither
  • They are both too angry and cranky.
  • Tori is probably a little more talented, but fiona (while still hugely talented) is less pretentious, and i find more engaging, more eliciting of empathy Plus tori-style sopranos can shit me Oh yeah!! Eddie1 is right...PJ reigns supreme
  • I love them both. That's very difficult to answer. But, I would go with Tori but only because Fiona hasn't had as many albums out as her yet.
  • Fiona Apple, in my opinion. Her music is far more accessible.
  • Anyone who has seen Tori live would have to go with her on this one. I do like fiona Apple but she just doesent have the depth or versatility that Tori has. I find Fiona's stuff to be a bit samey, like background music, whereas you can be completely immersed in Tori's music. Tori, Tori, Tori everytime, no question! (Sorry Fiona, I still love ya!)
  • Fiona Apple, I really enjoy her music while I have never connected with Tori Amos'.
  • tori amos, she is brilliant
  • tori amos better piano player i enjoy her lyrics more because of the thought that sometimes has to go into them where fiona seems a little more straight forward (just my opinion)
  • Tori, always.
  • I appreciate Tori's talent, but I haven't really connected with her music. I love Fiona, and her lyrics read like poetry. They're both immensely talented, so it'd be hard to choose who is 'better.'
  • Fiona Apple hands down.
