Nah. Too much work :-P
-
No, but if I did it certainly wouldn't be a secret :)) I go out and get what I want.
-
I secretly want to live as my neighbors do. Shhh ... don't tell them. I'm watching to see how they do it.
-
Hell yea. I always wanted to find a nice Amish woman and live life a bit more simply.
-
No way. I could not survive without my washer and dryer. not to mention the Microwave and Shower.
-
an HOUR without internet, or TV or phones or God forbid a microwave...LOL. If it came down to living like that or death..shoot me now
-
Kinda... Yes.... everything seems more healthy and pure.... It's a good way of life..
-
Oh nooooooo way!
-
Yes and no...theirs is a much more simple life ...certainly there's less stress and they seem to be healthier...but, on the other hand, I love my technology! Could we be communicating this way if we were Amish?
-
It might be nice. Their lives seemed very fulfilling and peaceful. But because I grew up the way I did, I don't think I could switch to that lifesyle.

wile their is something to be said (to there credit) for there amazing lifestyle (by todays terms) - i'm a true american the only thing i want to "churn" is the money in my pocket as i pull it out to BUY my butter- be true to what you know and who you are
-
I like the work and family orientation. But nah. I also like too much of the rest of my life as well.
-
no thankyou

To live in a tiny little restricted Amish world where education is frowned upon, that's not for me.
-
When I was younger I had a romantic vision of living the life of an Amish child, curious about the outside world and wondering what else was out there. But then I found out about all the hard work, and realized that I wouldn't be able to eat chicken nuggets from Wendy's. So no longer would I care to be Amish. Though they do still intrigue me....

i would like to do it for a week, if a limo picked me up at the end. I know i would flirt with the girls. I probably would get punished somehow. Its like living on a farm. chores and early rising with church and spoken german. the outhouse i could do. thees and thous might be a challenge.

While I think many of the Amish live rich and fulfilling lives, I enjoy the advancements of technology and their contributions to my health and quality of life. I also want my children (and all children) to have unlimited choices in their lives, and I don't think an Amish childhood provides that. So I think I'd enjoy it for a short period, learn a tremendous amount from the experience, and be very happy to return to my world.
-
No. But I tell people I do thats my secret
-
Yes. Not secretly either. I've always wanted to live like the pioneers did. As soon as I get some land, adios modern world! Well, not entirely....I'd keep some technology. Cars, maybe electricity if I could do it off the grid. I wouldn't keep the Ordnung or be wary of the "English"
