  • you mean tattoo? Very last century.
    • Keble Bolly-Jocksford
That's a good thing, Cipher. Last century was much better than the current one.
  • i think they're alright. they're just like any other form of self-expression. you can learn alot about a person by looking at their tattoos. my dad is a tattoo artist and he has a reason and story behind all of his. and he has his arms covered and some on his chest and back as well as his legs.
  • trashy. And I know alot of peeps will be mad at me for writting it..sorry its a personal feeling thingy!
  • u might like them at first, but will u like them when you turn 40, 60, 80?
  • I find them very trashy and unappealing.
  • Depends on the tattoo. Example: An asian symbol could be stylish; a tattoo of a penis, probaly trashy. I still think most common businesses don't want to see em, due to dress codes, but if your in a business that doesn't care...example: tattoo shop, then its the norm.
  • Tattoos should be totally taboo!
  • stylish.......but if u have too many it can be trashy!
    • priawoodell
I agree with your opinion, but I think sleeve tattoo looks preaty cool on woman (for some, even sexy)
  • Trashy. (Sorry people...but she asked.)
  • Ehh, trashy on me. I don't want them, but they can look nice on some people, depending on the tattoo.
  • You tell me.
  • I just got an airbrushed tattoo--I'd never get a real one. ❁❁❁
  • Eww. Nothing about a tattoo is stylish to me, especially tattoos that are not easily concealed, and especially tattoos in the small of the back.
  • Depends on the person and their tattoos. Some people look great with tattoos, like the tattoos are just an expression of their lives or what life means to them. I can dig those stories and get into why the tattoos mean something. That being said, if there is a guy with a mullet and a tattoo on his arm of tweety bird, I'll piss myself laughing.
  • Depends where, depends what, depends how big, depends why. Just getting one because you've been drinking and it seemed like a good idea at the time is probably a bad way to get one. It is apt to be trashy! There are some stylish tattoo that look nice but the color, subject matter and placement needs to be well thought out.

  • To me, I dont particularly care for tattoos. I find tem a bit trashy and overdone. Everyone has them now. It's become too mainstream. Not that it's not beautiful or anything. I have an appreciation for the art but not for wearing it.
  • Alright whilst your young, but you have to live with it for the rest of your life.......and nothing looks worse on an older woman.
  • My bro has one down his spine its his name in chinese that looks cool but my sister has a rose on her leg which is trashy I guess it depends :)
  • Trashy.
  • Tattoo on the ankle, neck, etc.. Stylish. A tramp stamp, trashy.
  • Some are amazing works of art but not a fan of ink on the body.
  • They are not trashy, and anybody who thinks so is an annoying snob.
    • officegirl
Perhaps but many of us grew up associating them only with bikers and sailors cultures and are not comfortable with them.
    • Keble Bolly-Jocksford
Yes, well, many of my friends are bikers, and if you insult my friends you are insulting me as well. Being a Pisces I am not comfortable with being insulted or hearing my friends being insulted.
  • Major trash. I hate tattoos. I don't understand why people get them, especially women.
    • Keble Bolly-Jocksford
I don't understand why people make sexist comments, especially women. Women are supposed to fight male chauvinism, not encourage it.
    • ladyEmma
I don't like how tattoos look on women. How is that encouraging male chauvinism? I just made an opinion about my dislike of how tattoos look. I really don't like them on men either by the way.
    • Keble Bolly-Jocksford
It's usually chauvinistic men who say things like that about women, so that was how it came across to me. If you don't like tattoos on either gender, that's fair enough, but it would have been better to say just that in your original answer. It was totally unnecessary to add "especially women" to your answer, and it looks to me as if you put it there to see who you could bait. Women who say things like that about other women are no better than male chauvinists as far as I can see, because neither will ever succeed in getting rid of that attitude. Does that make more sense to you, lady Emma?
    • ladyEmma
I just gave my honest opinion to the question. I don't like tattoos. And I dislike them on women even more than men.
    • Keble Bolly-Jocksford
All right, Lady Emma. Please explain in a logical manner what difference one's reproductive organs make to whether tattoos look good or not.
    • ladyEmma
Tattoos just look more manly to me, not very feminine. It's no different to me than certain articles of clothing looking more appropriate on one gender and not the other. When I see a woman with tattoos it's like seeing a man in a dress. It just looks out of place.
    • officegirl
KB-J whether you wish to acknowledge it or not there are significant differences between men and women besides our reproductive organs. Yes there is a lot of cultural baggage that has accompanied these differences and I would agree that a lot of it is quite silly. However our perceptions of the opposite sex will of necessity be affected by culture as well as our basic differences. Label that "sexist" if you wish but it is very real. We are "equal" in that together we make a dynamic unity, a whole and we don't exist without the other - rather than "equal" in every specific quantity or quality. If women want to get tattoos they may do so but ladyEmma is not the only person who thinks or will think they have a negative impact on their appearance.
    • Keble Bolly-Jocksford
Lady Emma, please explain why you think tattoos look "manly". To me they look completely gender-neutral and I still fail to see the logic in your views as you express them. Maybe if you phrased it differently I might understand what you mean.
    • Keble Bolly-Jocksford
Officegirl, why should tattoos have a more negative impact on one gender than the other? I honestly don't see what difference gender makes in this case.
  • TRASHY!!! 12/12
  • People of my age I think very much associated tattoos with sailors and bikers and that kind of person so we I guess considered them "trashy" because in those days nobody like ourselves would get them. Yes they still pretty much me because I think why would people want to disfigure and mutilate themselves like that? But I also know they have become a fashion as well and I have accepted that many men as well as women have them and live with them so I try to look beyond their tattoos and see the person inside.
    • ladyEmma
Very well put. I think I tend to have that kind of association with tattoos as well. I know lots of people who have them, and that's fine if that's what they want to do, but I've just never become comfortable with it. And I have the same thoughts. When I see someone getting a new tattoo, I think, Why would they want to disfigure themselves like that? I guess they like it and feel good about it, but to me it seems like a shame to do that to one's body.
  • I think sleeve tattoo looks preaty cool on woman (for some, even sexy )
