  • more than one firewall at a time can cause them to fight each other, and either everything is going to come though because neither is working or they will block everything even thing you want to come though because they think everything is a threat. Best to only have one.
  • Sometimes having more than one firewall doesn't cause any problems, but it is always preferable to pick a single firewall that does the job right and stick with that one. Keep in mind that every firewall adds a layer of work to every packet entering / leaving the computer, so having more than one also affects network performance.
