It *seems* like I once heard my mom say "Na zdrovye" (sp?), which means, I think, "to health", and we're Polish-ancestored, not Russian.

That would probably be the Polish version of "Na Zdrovye" which is a Russian phrase for "To Health" Poland borders Russia on one end and Germany and Eastern Europe on the other. The language borrows a little from it's surroundings around the borders, much like Alsace in France or Belgium, where people are more or less German or French speaking and acting the closer you get to those places. @ Amorphous Blob: Your family would be from Northeastern Poland I'd guess.
