    I wonder how you know it is the oil pump. Most oil pumps are gear dispalcement pumps internal to engines which rarely go bad. I suggest you resubmit your question and provide more details as to just what nature of the problem is, symptoms, etc.

    I doubt an oil pump will go bad becore the block has lost 10 lbs to rust.

    A dodge what? Invest in a "Haynes Repair Manual" for your vehicle. It has step by step procedure with pictures for you to follow. If you cant do it with one of those then pay someone else to do it for you.
