I have that from mine all the time he has more toys than any other child I know and we still get it. LOL. I normally start a water fight with him, or build him a den in the living room where we will sit and watch dvds or build lego. hes normally happy after that.:-)+

I have him help me clean house. Oddly enough, he likes it.

I would say, "well if your bored I have some work for you to do", believe they become very occupied in their own affairs quickly.

If its not the middle of the afternoon my response is standard. go down and play. Run around. that's what summer breaks are for not for plunking in front of the TV and vegetating. If its the middle of the afternoon I'd say read a book or solve some sudokus/crosswords.

When they were younger, I'd suggest some activities and might help them get started. When they were older, I'd suggest a job.

My wife would never allow our children to use the word, "bored" in the house. She considered (considers) it a cuss word indicating a lack of imagination.

My kids tend to say that even when it isn't summer break, I tell them I am Candy nice to meet you bored.
