  • Recovery from a mild heart attack depends on the method of treatment. If you have had a stent implanted expect to take it easy for a few days. Avoid heavy lifting to reduce stress on the groin where the catheter was inserted. If you were treated with medications (considered conservative management) expect to take it easy for the next week at least. In both cases, you might expect a referral to cardiac rehabilitation where you will receive instructions and education on managing cardiovascular disease. No strenuous exercise until cleared by your doctor. Don’t stop any medications without your doctor’s approval and if you are having chest pain after you go home don’t ignore it.
