If you don't like alcohol to begin with, then it is likely that most varieties taste rather like cough medicine. That being said, two of the more popular liqueurs on the market today (especially amongst the "college crowd") that are purported to taste "medicinal" are: Jagermeister - caramel coloured "cough medicine" with licorice overtones. Comes in an "herbal" looking green bottle. If you plan on ordering a shot in a bar, the "J" in Jagermeister is pronounced as a "Y". Aftershock - comes in four varieties/colors. The green one smells exactly like menthol cough syrup. There are numerous cherry liqueurs that taste like cough syrup to many people. As do several brandies, sherries and vermouths (Cinzano Rosso, for instance). In any case, it's all a matter of personal taste (one man's champagne is another man's apple ripple lol). Have fun with your "sampling" but be sure to appoint a designated driver early on in the evening!
