  • Not if she wanted to stay in my house afterwards! I've seen swimming attire less revealing... It's time to get our kids away from MTV, and playing outside...
  • I would hope I have raised my daughter to have pride in herself, with dignity and good taste. I would be more dissapointed in her than the dress.
  • No daughter of mine would ever have any desire to wear that.
  • I'm not planning on raising a whore. My daughter has and will keep her modesty.
  • Not on her life would I let her out of the house dressed like that. And if my son's date was dressed like that he wouldn't be going any where with her. Period. I want to know where in the hell where her parents when she was putting on that monstrasity? Didn't they teacher her what is appropreate dress in public? Or are they letting the dog raise her?
  • Um no. That looks awful.
  • If I had a daughter, she wouldn't be going anywhere like that.
  • G'day FaerieWhings, Thank you for your question. It depends on how old she is. If she was leaving high school, she would be old enough to make her own decision. However, I would hope that she would make the right decisions. By the way, it is consistent with what many actresses wear to movie premieres. Regards
  • A prom is supposed to be a classy affair and that dress just doesn't make it.
  • Holy Crap! I would knock the piss out of my daughter! I hope she saves that clip to show her grandkids!
  • Find it kind of a strange thing that The Bedding Expert sponsored that clip. It's disturbing that some high school kid and her mother would think that the dress is perfectly OK. Not my kid, not in this lifetime.
  • 1) The girl is cute. 2) The dress is NOT. (At least NOT on a HS student.) 3) She had NO UNDERGARMENTS on? LOL (NO WAY!) 4) Some have said bathing suits cover more. True, but bathing suits are made to swim or sun in, NOT go to a school function. NO FREAKING WAY I'd let my daughter go ANYWHERE in that thing (if I HAD daughters.) My nieces have more taste than that, and my step-daughters (now over 20) while they might THINK about it, are MUCH more intelligent and classy to wear something like that out!
  • Hell no! We had a girl at school that tried to pull this when I was in HS. They made her wear her dates jacket all night. I am glad they banned her, they showed a lesson instead of a fashion show.
  • Not only would I not allow it..I wouldn't have to worry about it in the first place. My daughters have enough modesty and respect for themselves than to wear something like that anywhere.
  • they said it was a homemade dress, i want to know who made that for her! That is horrible, I would never wear that anywhere near public, i would be imbarrased to wear that in front of my own daughter.
  • That isnt a dress, that is a swimsuit with a train on it. Hell NO!
  • Nope. Basic fashion sense is a good part of any child's cultural upbringing. That child should be encouraged to study fashion history. Learn who Coco Chanel and Christian Dior were. Learn about context in fashion and maybe learn from this experience. Turn it into the fire to pursue a fashion career. Someone from The Chicago Art Institute's fashion program call that kid and get her an application.
  • That's disgusting. I would expect even strippers to have more class than that.
  • When I was a girl, I would rather die than be seen like that. However, I did see an entertainer with an outfit that looked very similar to that on the Yahoo TV listings page. I can see how she would be influenced. I'm glad she was banned from the prom.
  • LOL...I saw that on the news as well!!! I would never (NEVER) let my daughter dress that way (if I had children). That "dress" suggests she may be looking for a career as "the other woman" after high school. I think it's outrageous that her parent(s) would allow her to go outside anywhere wearing so little.
  • its her choice. i would probably like to be involved in helping her choose a dress but ultimately it is her choice. i would probably be concerned that she might catch a cold. you know, the human body is not illegal last time i checked.
  • My daughter would not have gotten even close to designing such an outfit for any occasion and probably wouldn't even care to go to the prom. As for this poor girl, all I can say is that 'AWs' come in every shape, age, and sex.
  • I wouldn't let her out of the house. No underwear! My God!!
  • No way!! Not only is it to skimpy and very suggestive, its not a good looking dress. I think it is a ugly dress!
  • Absolutely not. My daughter would have been raised to understand that being a woman isn't about how much skin you show but about how much character and self esteem you possess. She would understand that sexy is about confidence and interaction, not nakedness. She would have been raised to want to show off her intellect, talent and wit rather than her breasts. And she would learn to articulate the English language before the age of 18.
  • I don't understand how she thought that would be appropriate in the first place. Prom is a formal event - not a swimsuit competition. And to answer your question - no. My daughter would never be allowed to wear that.
  • How did she come to the conclusion that that is a prom dress? because to me it looks like mini skirt and top. I think she got mistaken for a night of clubbing not promming!
  • i am 16 and will be going to prom next year and i would never put myself in that
  • I would knock my daughter right on her ass if I caught her going out like that. And while I'm at it what the hell is wrong with her boyfriend. I generally don't try and dictate what a woman I am in a relationship wears but when she's with me I will be dammned if I am gonna allow her to be dressed like that.
  • how do you lookat the dress. What link?
