• Without a doubt, the venerable 6 in. plastic worm "Texas rigged" weedless is still the number 1 bass lure. Any color will work any day, but for now, just use plain black. I like a small 1/4 oz. bullet weight allowed to slide above the worm, just to get it down on the bottom. Cast it into and around visible shoreline strucure such as rocks, fallen trees, and emergent vegataion, and you will catch bass. I like early morning and late afternoon, but the best possible time to fish is the time you have available. Obey the wildlife laws, and practice cath and release for the future. You can buy a lot better tasting fish (than bass) in the supermarket.
