I would say it is one of those things you instinctively know. There are no definite ways or set standards. It is between you and your relationship with God, and when you are being called, you'll know it.

I asked the same question of several people I trusted and respected, who had all claimed to have been called. Interestly, they all had the same answer (though I asked them separately): If you can't imagine doing anything else with your life and being fulfilled, you should get started answering that call. You may find in the process that you're not heading in the right direction, and can adjust at that time. Sound advice, and I took it. Turns out that God's call to me was confirmed over and over in the process, but I wouldn't have known how to proceed without this good advice.

the bible states that we are all called to go out and preach the gospel!I think one way to know for sure you are ready to be a pastor is to pray pray pray because first does your life truly reflect christ and his love thats the big question people truly need to see your light shining for Jesus Christ!!

God will speak to your heart. Sometimes through other people of God. Sometimes through prophecy. Many people will be drawn to you, because of your Christlike love. They will want to hear the truth. Prayer is another way of finding out. God Bless.

As a Christian you should be 'spirit' filled and know you are called to minister to a congregation... 2) You have the funds to go thru schooling to become a minister thru whatever denomination you belong to... 3) you are willing to take the time to learn how to minister & help people within your congregation... 4) Learn the Holy Bible &other religions to see who has Gods truth...
