home depot sells a product called "zep" that works wonders get the carpet spot treating foam not the pet odor spray

The best Ive come across is Resolve. Clean up the primary poo then spray the spot well. Put a warm wet rag on the spot for 5-10 min then use the rag to wipe up the remaining stain. It worked for me. Then spray the area well with Febreze (buy it at grocrry store) which neutralizes smells to discourage animals crom using the spot again. Clean the litter box while you are at it and get an extra one if you are litterbox training.

Stuff called Natures Miracle made for exactly that purpose and works great. It's sold at pet supply stores.
