No one really knows. It was a long running thing on the show. All they ever really said it was an island and he could speak Dutch. It is speculated that he is from Indonesia.

They never said. It was the running joke. Even his name is fake - it stands for Foreign Exchange Student (FES). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fez_(That_'70s_Show)

In the early episodes of the show, FEZ is see talking to Eric's grandma and it is in Spanish. Aside from the running joke, if I were to guess, just based on the show, I would say that he is either from Puerto Rico, or the Dominican Republic. I think that as the show progressed, he's origin became more convulated, for the sake of the joke.

Yes but Fez is really in Morocco.

G'day Smurphy, Thank you for your question. As I understand it, it isn't disclosed on the show. However, Wikipedia speculates that it is Curacao. Regards Wikipedia Fez (That 70's Show) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fez_%28That_%2770s_Show%29

There's no reference in the show to a specific place. Remember when Fez's friend (name: ?) flies to America, and they ask them where they come from, they answer: "Well it depends who you ask to. If you ask to the English.. they'd say you should ask to the dutch.. " "And if you ask to the dutch?" "I don't know, I don't speak dutch!" I mean, it's a sort of joke which keeps on going on throughout the show that will remain unsolved.
