  • Absolutely agree with MM, perhaps one of the greatest entrepreneurs in the world; Richard Branson definitely fits the shoe in that respect. Not to discredit plenty of others who've set global benchmarks, but Mr Branson is most certainly a tough act to follow. He was diagnosed with dyslexia very early on, resulting in not such a stellar record throughout his tenure at school, eventually dropping out at 16. Even so, after hurdling past numerous obstacles in regards to his condition as well as having to face upto a few failed ventures beforehand he successfully began a magazine titled "Student Magazine" and capped it well out by the time he was 17. I wish I could say the rest is history, but it wouldn't be fair to downplay the amount of hardwork and peseverance this man has churned out time and time again in the face of industrial adversity. That's paid off obviously. Today his "Virgin" brand has attained over 367 companies globally and counting. He's been deemed one of the most influential Britons in the UK. Inspite of his dyslexia, he recieved an honorary degree from Loughborough. But more importantly he wiped off that smug grin across British Airways face back in the day when they thought they were all high & mighty, proving to them what a 'no-frills' business model for an airlines can do to a monopoly. Goes to show you that one person can make a difference.
