If by "additional memory", you mean "big memory card", then no you can't, because there are no software drivers to support USB flash drives. Of course, Sony may include those drivers in future versions of the PS2 ROM, just as they upgraded the DVD Player drivers.

You need the software to use any mass media USB devices. Here is the link about the software for PS2 http://www.gamescore.com/index.php?action=news&id=164 I am ordering it pretty soon as it comes out.

I don't think you can. It's weird, the PS2 has USB ports, and anything I've tried on it for computer powers up and everything, but the PS2 won't recognize it. I tried plugging a flash drive into the USB ports and nothing happened.

There is a kit out there that you can put your memory on your jump drive and put it on your computer. But the catch is it comes wit this disk that changes the language for the computer and everytime you want to transfer data you have to put the special disk in. as shown in this product http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=25&products_id=2360&

PS2 bios doesn't have drivers for usb, instead game must support usb.If usb is workin on PS2, then as I know only in grand turismo u can save captured pictures on memory usb flash drive.
