  • I was always lead to believe that it was Laugh and Cry If you want to watch anything, you need to go to Fox because they don't believe that YouTube will help their show or ratings because they are a backward company with good TV shows though. That's how Fox makes me laugh and cry :( http://www.familyguy.com/

  • My husband and I argue about this every time we see it! I have known for a while that it says "Laugh and Cry", but I have always thought it sounded like "F'in Cry". I like to insist that it says that, just to frustrate my husband. Besides, it's more 'Stewie' that way.
  • Here's an answer for ilikebeerandtv: I believe that that scene is a parody of the 1st Back to the Future movie when Marty McFly reunites his parents at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance. In that scene, the band in the background is playing "Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine)," which I'm 90% sure is what they're playing in that Family Guy episode. The band that is named in the Back to the Future credits is Marvin Berry and the Starlighters, but I think that song is one of those oldies that many bands cover. So, I don't know if you'd be able to find the exact version that Family Guy is using, but I think "Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine)" is what you're looking for.
  • I always thought "laugh and Cry" but I might be wrong... I'd never even even considered F'ing.
  • Laugh and cry
  • a farce on a frank sinatra song
  • My wife and I have debated this many times, and even replayed it over and over (TiVo). We still are not sure. We looked up the lyrics, and officially it is "laugh and cry", but it sounds like f'ing cry when he sings it. We have pretty much come to the conclusion that it is written as "laugh and cry", but he blurs the lyrics while singing just to create the question as to what he is saying.
  • It's always been "laugh and cry"...but it sounded so much like "f'in cry" that people complained, and, after the first couple of seasons, the part was re-recorded to make it more clear.

  • It's Laugh and Cry.
  • Laugh & cry.
  • This is something I always wondered... ... In Spain, the intro is in English and subtitled in spanish and in Stewie part the don't subtitled Laugh and Cry (REIR Y LLORAR) they only put LLORAR... ... I think Stewie says 'f*cking cry' according to the 'possible censored' spanish subtitles
  • both.. on some stations like TBS it says "laugh and cry" while on other stations such as adult swim on cartoon network it says "effing cry".
  • sometimes it sounds like laugh and cry and I swear other times it sounds like F'ing cry! maybe it's both!
  • i replayed the song over and over again to find the answer and it is "laugh and cry"
  • ive wondered this for ages, and even went as far as to put the subtitles on just for that part, but, on different occasions it has said "f'ing" and "laugh and" so i was confused. but then, on the family guy-the story so far programme, seth mcfarlane said it was "laugh and cry" not "f'ing cry" I think they like people to think it's f'ing cry though. it works better :)
  • i think like many i thought it was f-ng for the longest time, until i looked it up online and it say laugh and
  • Because of way he speaks laugh & cry sounds like F & cry.
  • It is "Laugh and Cry," and it always has been. Seth Macfarlane once said that Fox made him re-record it because so many people misheard it as "effin' cry," even though he says he doesn't understand why anyone would think that. I think people mishear it because the song talks about the need for a wholesome family show, which is obviously contrary to the show's actual content. People think it's a setup for a joke, and they are expecting a punchline like "NOT!" or "Gotcha!" or "F-!" There is an episode where Frank Sinatra, Jr. sings the song over the closing credits, and his pronunciation of "laugh and cry" is very clear and unambiguous.
