  • Because they would break the ice? Or they cannot support their weight? Or if they eventually get to the goal they can't move them out?
  • I've wondered the same thing. Maybe there's a weight limit. I would wrap the puck in foil so he would think it was a 'Ding-Dong', he'd be sure to stop it then. lol
  • Gorillas are hard to train.
  • I considered this for a while when I was a kid and I've come up with a few reasons why not. 1. There aren't that many 800 lbs people (yet) 2. To play in the NHL, all players must pass a physical examination, which these lardos would not pass. 3. Even an absolutely huge person would not fill the entire net (it's a lot bigger than it looks on TV) and their inability to move quickly (or at all) would result in countless goals that would have been easy to stop.
  • One reason is because the NHL has strict policies on pad size limits for goalies, and those specified sizes would not cover an obese person of this size. Heavy or not, they would be severely bruised and hurt after having that many goals bounce off their unprotected body. There is also the issue of the goalie having to pass the physical.
  • Because they're playing Indoor (NLL) Lacrosse!
  • Consider this, to be a goalie you need to be extremely flexible, how would an 800lb person do a butterfly stop or a leg extension and then recover from such a move in a matter of seconds. For the most part goalies are smaller, quicker and more knowledgable of the game.
