I don't think it mentions that Jesus ever did have pet animals. However it would not surprise me in the slightest if he did. Reading the Bible, Jesus was a kind, warm and gentleperson. Some animals would be needed in that time period, as food, milk, wool, skins many things. I think Jesus could have had a dog. They are great pets and Jesus, as a child would have loved playing with it.

Traditionally people's back then didn't have animals around that we're part of the 'livestock' and since Jesus was raised in a carpenter's home, that didn't involve having to keep animals for any economic reason. So in all high probability, no.

I cannot believe this question go a -1. That is just plain stupid. Anyway, I suppose it is entirely possible for him to have had a pet. Why the heck not? I think it would have been a dog. I can't see him with a cat.

LOL! I like this question. And I am a Christian. Lots of great answers. Don't know why you would get any minuses on your question -- it didn't come across as disrespectful at all. Jesus grew up in a normal home for that period of time and that location, so I see no harm in speculating whether He had pets as a child or even as a young adult. I'm thinking like one person said that they didn't keep many pets that weren't used for food or other purpose, but still there was a reference to dogs eating the scraps from the children's table -- so maybe they did have pet dogs. We do know that Jesus loves animals. He said that not even one sparrow can fall to the ground without God's notice and concern.
