  • Well if it was legalized then there would be alot of rules to go along it like a limited amount of weed to be bought at once and a limited amount to be carried. The crime rate would probably stay the same. But if weed was sold in a legal shop then the weed would have to go through tests and crap like that so the weed you would be getting would be alot more healthy than buying it from a dealer who probably put meth or poison in it.
  • Crime would lessen, crime rate is higher with prohibition. You would take it out of the wanna be Al Capone's hands. Tax money would be enormous. -estimated $6.2 billion gained annually if taxed like tobacco or alcohal -$7.7 billion in government expenditures for prohibition enforcement would become free. -total= ~ $14 billion annually to gain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decriminalization_of_marijuana_in_the_United_States Educational programs could be implemented, if you are in violation of the regulations you first go to classes.
  • If they would have just all this time let it be legal it would not have such a "big deal" appeal to it and there would be a lot less of it going around.
  • ill tell you what if marijuana was legal id be smokin everyday...why? cuzz i do now and if it was legal id go to school, work , doctor, anywhere and be free. Id be so high you could reach me with a fuc**** antenna! And for all you people out there who aint smokin cuz they got a job, then by all means make that paper but if you aint got a job then i dont no what the f**** you are doin with your life, just hit the blunt and c if it doesnt change your perseption on life.
  • There are two reasons we will never see marijuana legalized in the US. There would be loss of law enforcement jobs all the way from Federal to local agencies. These same agencies would lose millions? billions of dollars from confiscated money and property no longer able to be confiscated. These two reasons would hurt the US economy. As for the crime rate, well at least the crimes involving smuggling and sale and use of the drug would have to go down. Maybe all the drug wars in the US and Mexico would be lessened or perhaps focused more on hard drugs.
  • if dat good shit weed was legal il`l `be makin dat money ill get a fat ass stash after i do my work i will be rollin dem fat ass blunt ill start a big ass mutha fukin buizness and blaze the fuck out aoll the mutha fukin tyme if it was legal shit its good i live in amsterdam dat shyt legal so if u want dat fat bud u have 2 come 2 amsterdam 2 blaze dat bitch
  • If marijuana were to become legal crime rate would go down, or law enforcement officials would be available to attend to more serious crimes. Marijuana would probably be taxed by the government, therefore making them more money. There would be an age limit on it, so possibly be harder for under aged kids to get a hold of it, though we all know it would no be impossible. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=vBTBN6i4M9oD_2f6V7zu6THg_3d_3d

  • It wont ever be legalized because of damn idiots like blunt420 and blaze55..Seriously..If u want to advocate weed dont make yourselves sound like damn idiots.
  • They would tax pot like no one's business. A pack of Camel "blunts" would be about $25 for probably 8 blunts of low quality weed. Thank God it's illegal, it's cheaper that way. Edit: To prevent possible confusion in the future. Poverty creates crime. If marijuana was expensive the crime rate would go up. Which is why it isn't legalized, because they wouldn't be able to tax it successfully. All the money they made from pot would go right back out the door "fighting the war on drugs".
  • Crime would go down, tax dollars can pay for police, whatever need be, State coffers will be full. They'll always be other problems if it is legalized, but they will always be problems.
  • It would make more room in jails for idiots who are violent. It could provide a hefty revenue base for states and feds. it would cause less ppl to drive around inebriated on alcohol. Instead they could drive around inebriated on chronic.
  • The crime rate would go down because marijuana users would not be punished and organized crime would not control the supply of marijuana. The DEA and other law enforcement departments would lose jobs. Tax dollars would be collected from the drug's sale. If they tax it too heavily people will simply grow their own marijuana.
  • Money would hopefully go from drug dealers, to the US Government (assuming they would be the ones to sell/tax it after legalization), and if the cards were played right, it could be very beneficial to the US economy.
  • If they legalized marijuana then the jails wouln't be over crouded. There is, on average, 1.2 million (1,200,000,000) people serving time in a state prison, and 13% of them are in for a marijuana related crime and 13% of 1.2 million is 156,000,000 people. Those 156,000,000 people could be sex afenders, rapists, abusers ect. and you would have room for them. and that is only state prison. a county prison could have more people in for marijuana related crims. Yes law enforcers and federal agencies would loose jobs but they are usually combinded with the jails and they would have more people to be around the city to help catch other people. They could be catching rapists and abusers ect. And yes the agencies would loose millions, even billions of dollars but they could have some of the money from taxed marijuana go to those agencies and some go to the economy. If they had legal marijuana taxed, they would be making alot of money. There is alot of people who buy marijuana. If you had a buisness in marijuana then they would be making alot of money.
