My Motorola cell phone audible volume is too low. I can't hear my caller well. Can an old battery cause the volume to fade as well?

I had an old old old cell phone that had this problem. When the battery level was low, the volume would also be lower, as to conserve battery life. This was actually supposed to be one of the "perks" of having that particular phone. When you charged it, it would louden up again. I don't think they still have such a silly feature though...but this may be your problem? Try taking your phone into a store and asking them. They will probably have more answers :)
