  • While it's highly variable depending on the vehicle, the older cars I've dealt with have been easilly done in about four hours, assuming proper tools, lift equipment, a helper, and a methodical marking of all hoses/connectors. Newer cars usually take a bit longer, since they have more connections and less space to work in.
  • I have pulled out quite a few engines on both older cars and newer. The previous poster is accurate regarding what it depends on. With all the right tools and equipment I can usually remove an older car engine in about 4-5 hours. On newer cars up to an additional 2 hours may be required.
  • Have you ever pulled an engine??? that's the true question or answer. your first time will be heck. but learn from you mistakes, we are pulling an engine know, and we are on 2 days... they are so tight and this engine is in sideways of all things ppl come up with... just keep it simple, and don't pull any unnecessary stuff of, and get a good manual... that's a plus
  • Be sure you label everything you disconnect. Write each connection in a notebook so you don't forget them when reassembling and reinstalling.
