  • 6 HOURS AND 33 MINUITES. I was hunting in the mountains in Pennsulvanya, It was getting dark and I lost barring. ( yes I got lost) I went into the woods early that day with a disposable flashlight (in the morning darkness,so thats all I had) and it died in a short time It was snowing hard and if I was near a road, I never heard a vehicle if there were any. I retraced my steps from the day ( well visually my tracks were snow covered, ) I reached my vehicle around midnight. wet, snow covered, hungry tired and GREATFUL.... alway take a compass ! I thought I was dead !
  • I just HAD to go to a concert while in college. We walked through some scary parts of the city... about 6 miles each way. The 'best' part was walking by a bench where a woman was talking to herself. All of a sudden she raised her voice and asked us, "You ain't gonna call the 5-0 are you?" After we assured her, "no" she kept muttering to herself, "Good, no 5-0, can't be dealin' with the 5-0." What?? Lol, at the time I had no idea what she meant. The 5-0 are the police I found out later, just in case you were wondering.
  • A 15-30 minute walk (probably around 2 miles) in a bad neighborhood around 11pm at night.
  • About 1 hour when the motorbike broke down at the back of the farm. Other than that, I like walking around in the house at night with my eyes shut.
  • The one I made from one side of the room to the other in a London nightclub when the strobe light was on.
  • A few homeless miles.
  • I once did 80 k at night on the back trails in Germany while I was in the Army, but I may have actually done more across Kansas after that in 1980, just didn't count the miles.
