  • When my son was two he asked me why is it milk? I learned a good answer then. "Because everything has a name and the name for that is milk! But I agree with you on your reasoning! It doesn't taste or look like a grape!!

      Growing up in Michigan, where people talk funny, I often heard people ask why Michiganders tend to call it "melk." But I think that's a different sort of story. But, more on a related note, some people are frustrated by things like "soy milk" and "almond milk," since they are not milk. But, to me, "grapefruit" would be more like if Coca Cola was called "Milkdrink."

      So they say. I, personally, don't see how a cluster of 6-8 large leathery-skinned orangish-yellow fruits resemble clusters of 80-300 thin-skinned translucent green or redish purple fruits. But, if most people are willing to accept that comparison, I suppose I'm just missing something.
