  • People should not be persecuted because of their religion, but that does not mean, by any stretch, that the ideas themselves taught as a part of a religion or as a dogma associated with a religion should be immune to logical scrutiny. It also does not mean that historical events and/or their association with religious ideas or the ideas promoted by dogmas associated with religion should be ignored. So, if someone posts a question asking about whether religions perpetuated wars in historical times (which sometimes they did, as a matter of historical fact), it is NOT persecution of any particular person or group of people based on their religion. Same goes for anyone bringing up Joseph Stalin as an example of how people can be atheists and it doesn't make them any morally superior.
