"Come and See." It was a tremendously well-made movie, but I can't say that I recommend anyone see it. It's not that the subject matter shouldn't be talked about, but just the way it puts the viewer so well into the mindset of the character is too chilling and uncomfortable to wish that upon anyone.

Back in the early 1950s I went with friends to see The Thing. It scared the ever-loving crap out of me. I was around 12 years old. I was terrified to go outside at night for months. As an adult I have seen the same movie a couple of times and laughed at how afraid I was years earlier. The remake is a poor example of stupidity gone to seed.

Maniac (1980). The movie is very disturbing. It shows graphic murders. Most of the victims are women who are stalked for their attractiveness. The movie sparked protests in the US. Maniac was heavily censored and even banned in many countries. A remake of Maniac was made. It is not as disturbing as the original.
