  • I am diabetic so I buy just the fish without the bread around it.

  • For me, NOT experienced in cooking fish, I buy breaded fish filets. HOWEVER: the best fish I've ever tasted was baked (or "broiled"). Tastes FANTASTIC with lemon juice.

  • Depends on what you want doesn't it. On another post you mentioned you were a diabetic and trying to lose more weight. For that reason alone, I'd say better to buy the unbreaded fish and cook it in the oven or at least in a very small amount of oil. We buy fish on sale and make fish tacos with it often. More veggies than meat in the tacos and the salsa, and corn tortillas don't effect blood sugar.

Corn tortillas have 13g. of carbs, just slightly less than a slice of bread. But as you know we need to have SOME carbs regularly throughout the day.

  • That depends on your taste, on your culinary talents, and on how much work you're willing to do. IMO baked unbreaded fish (with fresh lemon juice as condiment) is head-and-shoulders above breaded fish...but it's also more work than a frozen breaded fillet, which is so easy you hardly notice that you're making dinner.
