Quit? You can't really. However if you swing it right you can get a "failure to adapt" thing going about twenty minutes after arriving at boot camp like I saw one guy do. The paperwork took about three months so he was still there a month after we graduated, but he went home permanently LONG before me.

I think the best you can do is four active, two reserve, although when Reagan fired the air traffic controllers, he let somoe of the AF controllers leave early (but they still had reserve obligations).
