No, that would be a violation of what many view as a sacred place. The McDonald's is inside the pyramid, right behind the Wal-Mart Super center.

I can find no credible source to support this, however I'm sure the McDonald's corporation would jump at the oppportunity to put one there. And people wonder why there's so much anti-American sentiment around the world...

As you can see, there are also 4 KFCs and 4 Pizza Huts in Giza. I found also this page, with a McDonald restaurant review. Please read also the review about the "Pizza Hut & Kentucky Fried Chicken". But you cannot see them too easily from the Giza plateau, as far as I remember. I think the most shocking for some of us is to travel for thousands of km and still see McDonalds restaurants, as we expected just pyramids. I went there last year and there is a mcdonalds. Its nearer to the sphyinx(?) than the pyramids. And its not exactly next to them, its on the street next to the entrance to the sphyinx. But then again theres a whole city right next to them so you have to expect that( a few hundred yards). Still well worth a look though. Check out google earth and see where they are positioned.
