According to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, examples of proton pump inhibitors patients can receive by nasogastric (NG) tube---inserted through the nose and passed through the throat and into the stomach---include lansoprazole and omeprazole. Patients usually receive them in capsule or injection form. The nasogastric tube provides an alternative method of administration for patients with difficulty swallowing.
