<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Regional Accreditation
The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredits DeVry University to grant two- and four-year college degrees. According to the NCA Higher Learning Commission, it began accrediting organizations in 1895 as one of six regional accreditation bodies in America. The NCA Higher Learning Commission limits its accreditation to institutions based in the north central area of the U.S.
On the Other: National Recognition
The Council on Higher Education Accreditation lists NCA as a regional accrediting body that has met national quality and accountability standards. The U.S. Department of Education also recognizes NCA as an official accrediting body; DeVry appears in the U.S. Department of Education accreditation database. NCA counts nationally known state colleges, private universities and junior colleges among the schools it accredits.
Bottom Line
DeVry University has received quality accreditation from one of six nationally-recognized regional accrediting bodies in the U.S. that also accredits institutions such as Arizona State University and the University of Arkansas.
