<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: 'Consumer Reports' Rates Two Models Best Buys
'Consumer Reports' rated five Vizio television models and gave two -- the Vizio VF550M and Vizio VO320E -- "Best Buy" nods. In both cases, the report touted the excellent picture quality and wide viewing angle combined with low price points; the VF550M is a 55-inch TV that retails for around $1,500 as of January 2010, while the VO320E offers a 32-inch screen at approximately $430.
On the Other: One Model Doesn't Stack Up
While two of the five models got high marks on value and two others got average reviews from "Consumer Reports," the fifth model -- the 32-inch Vizio VA320E -- got panned. The review cited mediocre viewing angle and picture and poor sound, rendering it a shaky choice.
Bottom Line
Vizio, as "Consumer Reports" states, is a top-tier television brand. While the VA320E might not meet the brand's generally high standards, other models received excellent reviews and are priced below comparable televisions. Overall, Vizio does indeed make a good television.
