Nurse's aide requirements differ by state. The federal government set a minimum requirement of 75 classroom hours. Many states use the federal minimum, and some states increase that minimum, such as Missouri, which requires 175 hours. Nurse's aides also have to complete hands-on training, usually 40 hours.
